今年的五一劳动节，我们全家在这三天假期里好好劳动了一回——爸爸妈妈和我一起开垦了一片菜地。

第一天，老爸扛着大锄头，我拎着小锄头，去菜地翻土。我们先把菜地上的树枝、垃圾等杂物清理干净，然后老爸开始翻土，他挖好一部分，我就用小锄头把大土块敲碎，可没搞多久我就不耐烦了，拿起柴刀砍野草玩去了。看着一颗颗野草战败在我的手下，感觉真爽!
The first day, dad was carrying a big hoe, and I was carrying a small hoe to dig the vegetable fields. But I was impatient for a long time, and I picked up the firewood, cut the weeds and played with them. It's so cool to see the weeds defeated by my men!
第二天，妈妈买来了菜秧子。我们挖好一个一个小坑，妈妈把菜秧子一颗一颗栽下去，然后我和老爸费了九牛二虎之力提来两大桶水，把小秧苗都浇了一遍才回家。
The next day, my mother bought vegetables and seedlings. We dug a small pit, and my mother planted the vegetable seedlings one by one. Then my father and I spent nine cows and two tigers to bring two buckets of water, and watered the seedlings once before we went home.
第三天，烈日当空，我担心小秧苗晒坏了，就赶紧拉着爸爸妈妈一起去菜地看看。来到菜地，果然，小秧苗都蔫了。我们赶紧摘了一些麻叶、蕨菜叶铺在小秧苗边遮挡阳光。
On the third day, when the sun was burning, I was worried that the seedlings would be damaged, so I hurriedly took my parents to the vegetable field to have a look. Come to the vegetable field, sure enough, the small seedlings are wilting. We quickly picked some hemp leaves and fern leaves and spread them beside the small seedlings to block the sun.
